KETO Celebrities - Was Marilyn Monroe Keto?

MODERN GIRL VS. MARILYN MONROE

KETO CELEBRITIES: Marilyn, it’s reported, was a big fan of lots of protein.

Why, she was practically KETO before KETO was cool (or even heard of).

KETO, as you likely know, focuses on a low carb (very low), high protein diet that will benefit your health and help you lose weight.

Marilyn mixed raw eggs into milk and gulped it down for breakfast. While that might be a bit much for us modern-day folk, it’s a similar diet that might help us shed a few curves.

Marilyn Monroe- KETO DIET

KETO for DUMMIES

Basically, Ketogenic diet is a very low-carb diet that turns your body into a fat-burning machine. You eat more protein and high-fat foods that induce your body into the state known as ketosis. Also, this diet will change your body from a sugar (glucose) burner to a fat burner. You’ll tend to eat more fats and less carbs. That’s it in a nutshell.

What is Ketosis

Ketosis a natural process of the body that helps us survive when food intake is low. During this state, we produce ketones from the breakdown of fats in the liver, which the body uses for energy.

Benefits of the Keto Diet

Turning your body into a fat burning machine is what it purports. It reduces blood sugar and insulin resistance which will fight those pesky carb cravings which, in turn, will help you not eat them, which in turn, will help you lose fat! The fat burning is vastly increased and insulin, the fat-storing hormone, levels drop and then, voila! You lose weight.

KETO Foods

KETO mean an almost complete removal of carbs from your daily eating routine. The focus is on eating moderate protein and a high-fat diet.
Berries like strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries are allowed in small amounts. Also allowed are those creamy, dreamy avocados, which are great because they’re low carb and high in fat!

What Foods to Avoid on the Keto Diet

Nix all the sugary foods, starches, grains, legumes, processed foods, diet products, and fruits which are high in carbs.

It’s a Process

Feelin’ punky your first few days? That’s normal, Called, The KETO Flu, it’s common to feel less-than-ideal due to low levels of sodium and electrolytes. It has flu-like symptoms including a cough, headaches, fatigue, dizziness, and irritability.
However, never fear! They subside fairly quickly as your body adapts and your fat burning increases. Allow about a week.

Start Slow

No, really. We mean start slow.
Don’t just dive in and think you can “cold turkey” it. It’s better if you go gradual. For example, this can be done by simply planning for the week. On Sunday, get all the food that you’ll need for the week and prepare and cook in advance to save you time on busy days. Also, stockpile keto-friendly snacks and items to grab so you won’t grab those chips.

Facemaster vs. NuFace vs. Ultra Renew Plus (Truth in Aging) -- UPDATED

OK, I've been meaning to do this post for awhile. As an avid "anti-aging" skincare advocate (and licensed esthetician), I am pretty good at figuring out what's what with skincare and various products. But when it comes to home devices, it's hard to tell until you actually use it. I've used Facemaster for several years (6+), NuFace for about 5+ and Ultra Renew Plus for a few months. I feel equipped to give an unbiased review. Ready? Facemaster, the home lifting/anti-aging device by Suzanne Somers: I still use the two-prong device and haven't updated to the newer one-hand device, but all in all, this machine isn't bad. I used for several years and found that when used weekly, I got pretty decent results. Now, here's the caveat: You need some sort of conductive serum (Ms. Somers has one to use with it). I used hers as well as others (copper serums, aloe vera, etc.). The bottom line: Use something without oil. Aloe vera seems to work fine, bu
